Jacob Mansfield

Jacob Mansfield (Co-Founder / CEO) previously worked five years as a Power Originator at Citibank, where he helped structure and execute a dozen utility-scale energy supply agreements between renewable projects and corporations, equivalent to the power needs of over one million households. In addition, Jacob graduated with distinction from Harvard Business School and has a B.A. in Economics & Energy Policy Studies from Rice University.

Emma Konet

Emma Konet (Co-Founder / CTO) previously worked three years at battery developer Key Capture Energy as Director of Market Strategy & Operations. While at KCE, Emma developed a proprietary trading platform that increased real-time battery revenues by 104% and managed a team of 10 traders and software developers.

Prior to Key Capture, Emma spent four years at Citibank as a power trader managing risk in East power markets. In addition, Emma holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Rice University, graduated Summa Cum Laude from Tulane with a B.S. in Chemistry and Mathematics and was selected as a Forbes 30 under 30 honoree for Energy.

DR. Jason goldman

Jason Goldman (Lead Data Scientist) has nine years of data science experience across multiple startups, mostly within the electricity space. In addition, Jason has a PhD in Materials Science & Engineering from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a research focus on lithium-ion batteries. Jason also received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and B.A. in Mathematical Economic Analysis from Rice University. His experiences across data science and battery research are now coming full circle in pursuit of decarbonizing the electricity grid at Tierra Climate.

GRANT BOGGESS

Grant Boggess (Battery Optimization Lead) joins Tierra Climate from Swell Energy, where he was a Senior Data Scientist tasked with optimizing virtual power plants in wholesale power markets. Previously, Grant spent four years at General Electric building machine learning models to enable adaptive wind turbine operations under extreme conditions. Grant completed his undergrad at University of Kentucky with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Engineering and then obtained his Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rice University, where he was an NSF Graduate Research Fellow focused on non-linear optimization problems.
